Warm Brie with Quick Christmas Jam
Well, WOW! This warm Brie appetiser is a quick and easy entertaining option and… trust me when I tell you, it will disappear FAST!
It’s a recipe that started out as one idea and by the time it was complete, it had morphed into a totally different one. The original idea was to bake up some wanton cups filled with Brie, a fruity spiced jam and topped with crushed pistachios.
My whole intention was a Christmas recipe so I chose typical Christmas fruits for the jam – cranberries and cherries. The resulting jam is a tart, sweet (but not too sweet) flavour bomb. Infused with orange and cinnamon, it really is a great accompaniment for cheese.
When I first made the jam, I tasted it with a piece of Brie and really enjoyed it. My sister was here at the time and said the jam was amazing and reminded her of Christmas.
She then suggested using it in a baked pastry wrapped Brie! I loved the idea, but decided that I’d first see if I could do it all in the Thermomix. I wasn’t sure how Brie would go being steamed, but there was only one way to find out… The test proved mighty successful!
This is such a genius way to make a quick appetiser that is sure to impress. Seriously, it just works so well.
