It is storming here in Adelaide, South Australia and this morning when chatting to Grant about what recipes to develop this weekend he suggested a special ‘stuck at home’ cocktail was in order! I have always wanted to do a mulled wine, but I wanted it to be a little more exciting and fruity. This cocktail is a great way to warm up on cold winter nights, it feels like the best hug in a mug xx
Spiced Cranberry & Rum Cocktail

Ingredients1000 g cranberry juice20 g coconut sugar or sugar of choice20 g fresh ginger sliced in to coinspeel of a whole orange5 whole cloves4 star anise2 cinnamon quills1 tsp black peppercorns120 g dark spiced rum such as KrakenTo serve2 tsp coconut sugar1 tsp cinnamon powderdried orange slicescinnamon sticksstar anise Instructions1. Add cranberry juice, coconut sugar, ginger, orange peel, whole cloves, star anise, black peppercorns and cinnamon quills to mixer bowl. Cook for 10 min/100 degrees/speed 1/reverse/MC on. In the mean time, combine serving coconut sugar and cinnamon on a flat plate.Prepare each glass by running a slice of orange over each rim.
