Lady Rose’s Edwardian Tea Room and Mr Gearing’s Secret Shortbread Recipe
Now it’s no secret that I’m very partial to an afternoon tea, and a visit to Lincoln isn’t a visit to Lincoln without at least one visit to Lady Rose’s Edwardian Tea Room. It’s absolutely tea-riffic. Lucky that I’m in Lincoln right now and I’ll be able to get my scone on but if you’re not in town, let me take you on a virtual tour of Lady Rose’s but be sure to stick around for Mr Gearing’s (now not so) secret shortbread recipe, it’s just dilly (that’s Edwardian for excellent, don’t you know"!)
Stepping inside the tea room is like taking a step back in time. Taking tea here isn’t just eating and drinking, it’s a total experience. Tea is served here as it would have been served in the great houses of the Edwardian era (1901?1914) and is inspired by the TV series Downton Abbey and Upstairs, Downstairs. The couple certainly have an Edwardian...
