Step aside, regular old hot cross buns - these Hot Cross Bunnies are the cutest buns to bake this Easter! They may look a little complex to put together, but trust me - all it takes are a couple of snips with some scissors and a bit of creativity and you'll have the perfect little bunnies.These buns are topped off with some oozy apricot jam glaze for a bit of extra decadence! Yum!

IngredientsFor the bunnies:250 g whole milk1 tbsp dry active yeast60 g light brown sugar60 g butter1 egg500 g plain flour1 pinch sea salt1 tsp mixed spice (allspice, cloves and cinnamon)150 g sultanasFor the faces:4 tbsp plain flour3 tbsp water24 sultanasFor the glaze:50 g apricot jam InstructionsPlace the milk, yeast, and light brown sugar in the mixing bowl. Warm 2 Min / 37°C / Speed 2. Add the butter, egg, plain flour, mixed spice, salt and sultanas. Knead 2 Min / Kneading function.Leave to rise until doubled in size for an hour. Then remove the dough and place on a floured surface.Cut into 12 individual buns and shape them into ovals. Place them on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper and use scissors to cut into the top third. Spread the two cute apart, these will form the bunny ears.
